FAS Policy Fellows represent many disciplines - chefs, farmers, nutritionists, activists, public health professionals, fishers, policy experts and academics. Together they form an interdisciplinary team of farmers, academics, educators and activists charged with one mission - to inform and shape public policy to encourage the expansion of locally owned and controlled food systems that promote good health and environmental stewardship.

La Donna Redmond (2003 class) participates in a mock interview with Nicole de Beaufort of Vanguard Communications

FAS policy fellows work with the media to help inform and educate the general public and policy makers on key issues important to the development of healthy food systems. As part of their fellowship experience, they attend several meetings each year. The meetings provide fellows the opportunity to network with each other, learn about different types of food systems and policies, and hone their communication skills.
